Sunday Loving........

.......the morning sun streaming through the bedroom window, totally unexpected but more than very welcome ......and not just that weak Winter sun which disappears quickly but real,bright and dare I say it, even warm in the sheltered confines of the garden......necessitating the need to rake up the thick blanket of leaves left over from days which were far too cold (last week!) to even consider such a task......
......and perhaps necessitating the need to get rid of the thick blanket which has been  required as extra insulation on some of the chilliest of chilly nights..... but I won't move it out of the bedroom completely for the time being....I'm not that much of an optimist!

Wonky Heart......

I wish I could show you the lovely felted heart I intended making after seeing Matt's tutorial on his blog here. He's a Master at his craft, whatever project he tackles, with stunning results and since he made his little hearts look so easy and I had all the necessary  equipment required, I thought I'd very cleverly give it a bash....

....but one punctured thumb, two bleeding fingers and two broken needles later, I hastily abandoned the project while I ran and got some bandages for my wounds......

 so here's a pic of a Handsome Rooster instead.......

....his name's Bruce and yes, you maybe asking yourself, what on earth have the two got in common to which the answer is....I have absolutely no idea!

The week........

......which brought lovely presents in the post....(warning - this post contains pink overload!)......

.....in an 'unofficial swap' exchange, of a fashion.....Thank You Memerose.....extreme love for all things so expertly crocheted!......

......and which just happen to go beautifully with my 'special' Cath Kidston birthday mug from my Good Blogging Buddy and Friend, Betty.......

....and the week which brought more goodies in the mail.....

.....how excited can one person get by the sight of a shiny new crochet hook, complete with comfort grip. I ask you? Well, pardon me but I do lead a very sheltered life these days - and as my blog header says, it's the simple things!......
....and yet more excitement (really, can you take anymore?!)......

....some luscious new yarn (100% merino, extra-lush!) for a special project (no, I haven't made up my mind which one yet but I'll let you know)......

......and also the week when someone else got very excited about her swishy new snow boots, though she was disappointed when it didn't snow after all but have patience, I say, it's due any day now!

Great Dane........

...first they brought us

.....then it was....

....but best of all they recently sent us....

...and for fans of the increasingly popular Danish political thriller, last Sunday The Filmhouse in Edinburgh were presenting a showing (introduced by none other than the Danish Ambassador!) of Saturday night's double-episode finale, complete with a Q&A session afterwards with the great woman herself.......

..... looking resplendent in her tartan suit (funny article on Radio Scotland today with a clip from the session when she asked the interviewer what the material was called that her suit was made from, aw, bless!).

Anyhoo, click on the link below if you'd like a little taster of Sunday's event, for which people came from far and wide, even as far away as Norway - that's dedication for you!  I wasn't able to procure a ticket (too early for me on a Sunday morning anyway, plus I'm not THAT mad!) so this is as close as I got.
