Carpe Diem..........

For those who know me a little better than most, you may have noticed that I complain a lot about my working life. Now, this is not because I don't like working or that I'm lazy! I come from a very long line of grafters (hard-working types) and I seem to have instilled that same work ethic into my children, thankfully. No, I've just become a little tired, jaded and fed-up listening to my alarm clock going off before 7.00am each morning. By now, I had hoped to be a lady-of-leisure, happy in my retirement, able to go about my daily business without the hindrance of being at the mercy of someone else's timeclock. Sadly, that's not how it's panned out for me, in these my 'golden years' so for the time being I must remain a wage slave  and begin to appreciate the things I'm able to provide for myself and my family, for without my work, my lifestyle would change quite dramatically and I may end up liking it a lot less than my current situation. So, with this in mind, I'm trying to adopt the 'accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative' frame of mind and I thought I'd make a start today on my morning walk with my four-legged friends......
you'll notice there's a new kid on the block, the little black labrador in the foreground is a new addition to the work family
he's a cheeky little chappy who has a lovely nature
and he stays very close to his big step-brother
so through the garden gate we go
up and over the stile
and past the new additions to the sheep family up on the hill
stopping to clean off the sheep evidence from my wellies!

this wind turbine looks so random and totally out-of-place against the backdrop of the countryside - that's because it's HUGE!
then finally we reach our destination for today - 'Daffodil Hill' - it's not really called that, it's just a name I made up for it because there's an abundance of different types of daffodils growing randomly on the hillside
I love these Paperwhites and the way they turn their beautiful faces towards the sun, as if they're drinking in all that wonderful Vitamin C!
and that's our walk over for the day and soon it will be time to go home and enjoy the long weekend for the Easter Break and get on with my own stuff, e.g.

potting-up these Sweetpeas which I only planted a week ago but which have really enjoyed basking in the sun on my kitchen windowsill, inside their 'progagation' house (it's actually the container that the strawberries came in but it worked a treat to bring the seeds on) and then there's always
knitting in any quiet moments that the weekend allows (not hopeful), using up some wool from my stash for a stripey Summer Cardi.

Lots of positives to be going on with in the meantime, don't you think?

I hope you all enjoy the extended weekend. I know I will!Let me know what you're all up to.

Thanks, once again, for being here and sparing me some of your precious time
Lots of Love
