I Can See for Miles........

So, in a great surge of optimism, spurred on by a few of my favourite bloggy pals who have also posted recently, here I am.

The Great Outdoors has been a welcome boost lately. Time, whenever I can manage it, well spent.

For example, I can't help admiring my beautiful Japanese Acer which never fails to delight me with her lush green leaves and arching boughs. It blocks out a little light at my dining room window but I'd much rather look through the leaves of this beauty than at the ugly row of houses directly behind me!

Then, a couple of weeks ago, I took delivery of a new planter from a local 'Men's Shed' group who make lovely things from recycled bits of wood. It's only half painted at the moment. Painting trellis isn't high on my list of priorities because it takes sooooo long. The bottom half will eventually get done. Couldn't put an exact time on it though!

I've been seeing a lot of sunrises lately. The nights seem to be very short, maybe just 4 hours of complete darkness. I must invest in some blackout blinds for my bedroom!

At work, when I walk the dogs, I never get tired of admiring the surrounding countryside. I think myself very lucky to live where I do but slowly but surely, these brown fields are being taken over by developers with their bulldozers and more and more houses are appearing in clumps here and there and eventually all the clumps will join up and become one very big clump. I hope I'm not around to see the decline in the landscape when that all happens. I'll treasure the views for as long as possible in the meantime.

I love the whiteness of the hawthorn blossoms, almost bridal when you see them collectively showing off their prettiness.

No telling who you might bump into on a country walk!

The potatoes are sprouting happily in their neatly-furrowed field.

Off they go following one another up the hill to find some more lovely grass to munch on, just like sheep do!

Next time out, we'll take a leisurely stroll around the garden at work which is looking supreme at the start of these lazy,hazy days of summer.
